Dr. Weeks was born in Wyoming, moved to Texas at age 8, and grew up in Houston. His desire to become a veterinarian began around 9 years of age. A family member operated a “zoo farm” and as a young boy, Dr. Weeks spent a lot of time around lions, tigers, chimpanzees, coatimundi, bison, ostriches, emus, and many other exotic animals.
After high school, he attended Texas A&M University where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary Science. He then entered veterinary school at Texas A&M and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. Dr. Weeks worked for a short time in Kerrville, TX before moving to San Antonio. He worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Crossroads Animal Hospital, which he later purchased and renamed Pet Medical Center of San Antonio.
Dr. Weeks’ areas of professional interest are dermatology and soft tissue surgery. He has a working relationship with Gold Ribbon Rescue and Houston Collie Rescue. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association (Lifetime Member), Veterinary Medical Association of Bexar County, the American Heartworm Society, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
Dr. Weeks and his wife, Sandra, have three children, a golden retriever, and a collie. Dr. Weeks enjoys hiking and cooking.
