On-Site Pharmacy
We stock an extensive drug inventory so medications can be dispensed
before leaving the clinic. We also utilize a national pharmacy called
Vetcentric for medications that may be harder to obtain, or for re-formulating
just about any medication into a form that your pet will enjoy taking.
HomeAgain® Microchip System
Every year across the country, hundreds of thousands of pets become lost.
It is hard to believe, but most of these lost pets are not wearing any
form of identification. No identification means there is just a slim
chance of that pet getting returned to its original owners. Many of these
pets die on the streets or are euthanized at animal control facilities.
The development of tiny microchips, about the size of a grain of rice,
has made a difference in the lives of thousands of pets. The chip is
implanted under a pet’s skin and becomes a form of permanent identification.
It never goes away. If your pet has been “chipped” and becomes
lost, chances are high your pet will be returned to you. Nearly all animal
shelters and private veterinary hospitals now have chip scanners. In
our hospital, we scan all stray pets that are brought in. The same is
true for city-run Animal Care Facility. Once scanned, your pet’s
identification number is revealed and then it is just a simple task to
call the registry and obtain your contact information.
The procedure to implant a HomeAgain® microchip is very similar to
giving a vaccination; it is quick and easy and does not require sedation.
Please call us if you would like to have your pet “chipped.” |
